"Don't do that - the doctor-"
"I know what the doctor said! I. Don't. Care!"
"Liam, please, don't be like-"
"Don't be like what? One of those pathetic teenage girls you try to impress with your ridiculous attitude and hair? If I want to make things worse, I will do so! You don't control me! I'm your sister, not your daughter, Spencer!"
Those were the last words exchanged between the pairs before the door slammed. How it managed to slam, he was unsure, before his sister was gone. It was supposed to be Thanksgiving. It was supposed to be happy. He knew that his sister hated the feeling of being confined, that she couldn't stand to watch him do all the work. But yet, he had requested she don't help. She wasn't supposed to stand yet, how would she have been able to make any sort of meal? Unfortunately, he quickly learned just how useless she felt about the situation. It was about as useless as he had felt, waiting for her at the hospital. They were a team, and as soon as one of them couldn't function in the team, things fell apart.
Liam was using crutches, even though the doctor recommended waiting another week or so. She could tolerate motion on one foot, she determined, and that was good enough. It wasn't painful unless she touched her foot to the ground, and based upon the heavy cast, it cleared it by a couple of inches. She had maneuvered her way efficiently out of their apartment building and was making her way down the street. She didn't enjoy yelling at her brother, but she was the twin who had her act together. She made the decisions. She led their act. She couldn't stand to watch him struggle with the tedious, daily tasks that she normally did.
She turned into an alley, deciding not to attract attention to herself. She slowly realized she hadn't brought her coat, but she didn't want to go back for it yet. She didn't want to see her brother, the hurt look he probably wore on his face. She ignored the chilliness of the air until she began to shiver. Liam leaned against the brick wall, covering her face with one hand. She wouldn't cry, she kept repeating, but her eyes welled up with tears.
She had never felt like a burden before.
It hurt.
Liam sighed slowly, finally moving her hand. She managed to move a bit further into the alleyway and move so he was sitting on a stack of crates. She shook her head and sighed once more, ignoring the splitting pain that shot through her leg when she rested it upon the cold ground. It would be fine. She had gotten injured before. She could handle it. She ran a hand through her curls before she closed her eyes and touched the back of her head to the wall. She would stay here for a little while longer, before going back and apologizing. It wasn't his fault, she just hated the fact that she was down for the count and he was virtually on his own.
It was not turning out to be a good Thanksgiving.

Neseru had been walking around town, doing nothing really, she had no where to go for Thanksgiving. She didn't live, nor care, about 'home', and her brother's cuisine, was... something to be desired for. So she found herself wandering through the town on this chilly night. Feelings of happiness, and a little sadness, wafted through the walls around her until something made her stumble and crash to the ground.
Uselessness, and hurt, pained feelings, just over to the next round. These feelings she was not accustomed to feel, as many didn't feel it, nor for long. But this, she just wasn't on guard, and held her head, and tried to force it out of her head. But no matter how hard she tried, it stayed. This god-damned person had BETTER be hurt about something real, or I'll kill 'em myself! she thought.
And heard a door slam, and another wave hit her, a bit of anger, but still that feeling of hurt, and she moved towards it, pushing it back, as she stopped crawling, embarrassed by it, and stood up, turning the corner to see another girl, sitting with a broken leg, pain in it as she sat down twinged at the back of Neseru's mind, and went to stand before her, with a curious look on her face, and waved in a greeting. Her hand back and forth a little.

She was confused. That much was obvious upon her face. She hadn't really noticed the other girl until she waved. Still, it wasn't typical for people to just stop and talk to her. She did have a feeling that having the bulky cast probably had a little to do with it, but the feeling was so foreign that she pushed that out of her mind. She was trying to move past the injury, after all. Liam plastered a slight smile to her face. "Hello," she responded. What else could she possibly say? It was possibly the most awkward time for someone to approach her.
Her head tilted to one side and she pushed herself up with her back against the wall, ignoring the ping of pain as her heel dug into the ground to maintain her balance. She bit her lip before speaking again. "If you don't mind me asking, can I help you?" Her tone still had the same sort of confusion, with a bit of curiosity. The frustration still spilled slightly into it, but Liam was working to keep a lid on her anger. After all, there was no need to explode at random strangers.

Neseru's stomach turned a little, but it didn't last, frustration poured into her as she bent to sit on her feet, her knees hitting the ground, and smiled at Serenity and reached out to touch her casted leg, but stopped, and looked up at Serenity, raising her eyebrow a little in question, as her hand hovered over her cast.

Liam's head tilted to one side, still rather confused by the appearance of Neseru. "It's broken. It could be worse, but it's still..." She let the sentence trail off, biting her lip and ignoring any pain from shifting her weight. Could the other girl talk? She couldn't tell at this point, but it seemed unusual that she wouldn't. It was difficult for her to imagine anybody being silent, especially with that loud, obnoxious brother of hers. Still, she hadn't spoken a word yet.
Liam fell silent, pondering. Who was this girl? What exactly did she mean? She had never met her, but there was something that seemed oddly familiar. Maybe she was another Super? That would have made quite a bit of sense. After all, it seemed like all she ran into recently were Supers. Although, she had done much traveling the past couple of days, much to Spencer's joy. That kid seriously didn't understand her sometimes. Still, this girl seemed to be unusual, and different. Not just somebody you walked past in a grocery store.

Breathing in sharply, Neseru touched the cast, finding the place over it where the break was. And with care on her face, rather than the anger that had previously been behind her mask. And rubbed the part of her leg where the break was as a sickening bit of crunch as the pain, and the injury transferred to Neseru. This girl had more to do tonight than she did.
Neseru exhaled slowly, disallowing herself to show the pain in her eyes or face. It might be a bit until Liam realized the bone was healed, rather than just the pain gone. Neseru went and wipe her mouth, and spit to the side, after lowering her hand. The spit was red with blood from where she had clamped her teeth over her tongue, to avoid showing the pain she recieved.
